Hopeful Heart

It takes a deep dig
when your soil cracks up
to find your well
and pump life up
it takes a steady hand
when water flows hard
to guide your vessel
onto dry land
it takes a hopeful heart
when all seems lost
to find a home
inside yourself
it takes a mindful breath
when turmoil starts
to starve the frenzy
and feed the calm.
