poem: kenna totty

Oh I wonder when I’ll wander
‘Cross the earth’s broad shores anew,
As visions render me asunder
Though I’m of the lucky few

Who have lain on ocher leaves
And gloried in the woods’ decay
Filled with heartfelt I believes,
Delighting in our Earth’s ballet.

Or on a pinnacle that spired
Over vibrant silks of gold,
Amongst a people who aspired
Toward consciousness untold.

Or breathless gazing on the sky’s
Bright symphony of blue and green
Like a flood of fireflies
Crusading through the dark. Between

The joyous recollections flushed
With aching for the new
Toward which ago I’ve constant rushed
But presently so seldom knew,

So yes I wonder when I’ll wander
‘Cross the seven seas and shores
But til then I travel time
And traverse mem’ry’s bounteous stores.
