collage & poem: sri kodakalla
The most serene of purples
in what feels like the longest hour, just before sleep
my mind--
it leaks
a memory of a place trapped in time
caught between two moments
and swaddled in the most serene of purples
a never-ending sunset--
oozing clouds injected with a heavenly lavender dust,
shooting the last of its golden rays of light,
enveloping me in its flush of warmth,
then settling me quickly into the darkness
the vast, infinite place that beckons patiently
to remind me of the existence of an eternity beyond my very body
about the artist and writer: sri kodakalla
Based in Charlottesville, VA, she is a prolific artist who is currently exploring the juxtaposition of sculpture and fiber art with her love of story-telling. In her recent works, she has sought to combine elements of the natural world, collected within her day-to-day, with engineered geometric structures, to create delicate and detailed pieces that tell a narrative of her life experience.
